Nicole Belletti, Ph.D., EMDRIA Trained

I’ve been with TREAT NYC since the fall of 2019. I have a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the Derner School of Psychology at Adelphi University with a focus in Child and Family Therapy.

I’m a queer, disabled, polyamorous woman living on the stolen lands of the Munsee Lenape peoples. I’m actively antiracist. I love music and am a classically trained pianist and violinist with a touch a voice training thrown in for good measure. I’m an avid supporter of the arts who also enjoys getting out into nature for a hike or a camping trip. I meditate regularly and practice either Ashtanga yoga or Pilates daily.

My background is in working with people who have experienced trauma, particularly young people—from little kiddos through young adults. I have nearly 20 years’ clinical experience working with trauma survivors and have a significant amount of training geared towards trauma, PTSD, and complex PTSD (C-PTSD). I currently work primarily with individuals who have experienced trauma due to their membership in marginalized communities: disabled and chronically ill people, non-monogamous folx, BBIPOC individuals, people coping with psychosis, and members of the queer community, especially folx who identify as trans and gender diverse. I also have training and experience accompanying people through the trauma of grief and loss. My passion is supporting young trauma survivors in working through their experiences and moving forward with life in a way that helps them feel empowered.

I'm an integrative psychodynamic therapist, which means I’ll work with you to tailor a therapeutic approach that suits your personal needs, drawing on therapeutic theories and techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) (EMDRIA trained, certification pending), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), CBT for Psychosis (CBTp) (certification pending), sand tray therapy, creative arts and expressive therapies, somatic techniques, classical talk therapy, and play therapy. I’ve had training and supervision in many approaches and am always furthering my education so I can best address the needs of each person who walks through my (virtual) door.

If you would like to speak with me about working together or about having me work with your child, please feel free to reach out! I would love to find out what your needs are and discover the possibilities in store for us. I offer a free initial consultation and will provide you with appropriate referrals if we realize we aren’t a good match. I look forward to seeing you soon in my virtual office!
